The road to Oz,

I just finished this piece about a day ago, well not exactly finished but got far enough so that people can view it. I was messing around with my tablet on a black template, started drawing some lines and pulled this out of it all. Its still very rough but I like the way its coming out. I got the inspiration when I saw a Tron commercial. "Wouldn't that be NEAT?!" I thought, but instead of doing something RIGHT out of Tron, I figured I'd take a different approach. I like doing simple but detailed landscapes and this is the first time I've ever done a city scape.  The lighting was really fun to play with, although I'd like to put more in to give it a more clustered city feel, I didn't want to over kill the neon, it would overshadow the pink which is what I wanted emphasis on in the first place, and besides the dominating pink sign goes with the palette of the picture.

I imagined this was some sort of digital Oz, the yellow brick road paved obsidian and decorated with neon lights. The insignificant passer byes(Spelling?) are for the most part unfazed by its trance or overtly obnoxious advertising strategy. The mood isn't exactly a nice one, although the lights may be pretty, what really is there to look forward to in the phasic city of Oz?
The sign "Buy IT" was a Daft Punk reference, I was listening to "Technologic" at the time.

In the beginning, there was only... TRONSCAPE!

I'd like to fix this picture up every now and then but for now I am very satisfied with the way it came out! Merry Christmas!
